The David Brown 880 Implematic Tractors were introduced in September 1961. The 880 was first made as a four cylinder engine, and 12,685 were made. It had even greater success when, in September 1964, the three cylinder was introduced with 39,900 being built. The red and yellow colours gave way to the new brown and white and, in October 1965, the last 880 Implematic Tractor was built, making 19,207 David Brown 880 Implematic Tractors in total.
This is a nice example of a classic David Brown 880 Implematic tractor. It was restored about 4 years ago and has only been used for ploughing matches since. The engine has been rebuilt with new liners and rings, the crank reground and head overhauled. The front tyres are new and the rears have plenty of life left in them. New mudguards were fitted and a new crossbox fabricated. The V5 is present and the tractor is currently taxed on an age related plate.
